Queensbury Year 8 basketball team have won the Bradford Schools U13 league this season, this means they have achieved the ‘double’ of winning both the U13 Bradford Schools Cup & League & are unbeaten in 2011-12.
Congratulations & well done to all the players who played in that team this year
The Year 8 basketball team beat Grange 39-17 in the Bradford Schools league. The team played very well despite missing a couple of the normal squad.
The team are unbeaten so far this season & have put a lot of time and effort into practising most days before school and usually one day a week after school.

The school is collecting Tesco vouchers again. There are collection bin’s in reprographics room and the Library. The vouchers will be available in stores from 12/3/2012 to 20/5/2012.

Students in Year 10 recently completed two weeks Work Experience in local businesses and organisations. Our students really did a fantastic job and the feedback has been extremely good. Here are just a few quotes giving a flavour of the excellent work they did.
Queensbury School Expressive Arts department presented their performance of the hit musical ‘Annie’ to captivated audiences on the 7th, 8th and 9th March.
Some Year 7 students were treated to a design and build robot session.
As part of Science & Engineering Week Bradford Council’s Education Business Partnership teamed up with Chris Wilson of Bradford University to offer the session for the students.
Students from Queensbury took part in the Rotary club Technology competition on Tuesday 6th March 2012. This is an exciting ‘hands-on’ Tournament and a chance to learn outside of school and compete in a contest to Design and Make a prototype.
Internationally renowned restaurateur Mumtaz Khan was so impressed with the cooking skills of two Queensbury School students that he invited them to his restaurant to cook for his patrons.
On February 6th, a group of year 9 and 10 students set off on a four-day visit to the World War I battlefields in northern France.
We visited the World War I trench museum, the Lochnagar crater the Thiepval memorial
A group of students from the school recently entered a regional Art and Enterprise competition in coordination with the Confucius Institute at the University of Sheffield. Read more…
